Fred, age 91, passed away on Sunday at a Madison hospital. He was born the 15th of 16 children born to Jacob & Josephine (Heilman) Wolf. As a young man, Fred moved to Milwaukee, where he met Tekla Marie Mader. They were married on Nov. 22, 1941. In 1944, they moved to the Oregon area where they raised four children, Mary Ann, William, Joseph and Richard. Fred farmed and worked as a plumber for the local hardware store until December 1951, when he became a licensed master plumber. He shortly there after opened his own plumbing and heating business, that served the Oregon area for many years. In the mid-1960s, he closed his business and moved to Janesville, where he continued to work as a plumber until his retirement. After the death of his second wife, he sold his house in Janesville and moved to his cabin in Big Flats, where he lived until 2004 when he moved back to Fitchburg to be close to his family. Fred loved people, he had a great sense of humor, and was always quick with a story or a joke to keep everyone entertained. He will be missed by all who knew him. Fred is survived by two sisters, Jenny of North Dakota, and Monica of Milwaukee, WI; his three sons, William (Cheryl) Wolf of Brooklyn, WI, Joseph Wolf and Richard Wolf, both of Fitchburg, WI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 13 of his siblings; his first wife, Tekla; his second wife, Dorothy; and a daughter, Mary Ann Farmer.
