Born to Victor & Anna (Mallwitz) Reed. Maybelle lived in Milton Junction and was a graduate of Milton Union High School. She then went to work at S.S. Kresge, Janesville, WI.
Maybelle married Harold Prebe in 1936 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Milton, WI, where she was confirmed and also a member.
Maybelle and Harold operated a farm for several years near Johnstown Center. They later moved to Beloit, WI, where they rented the Lather's farm for three years, until they purchased their own farm west of Beloit. Her first husband, Harold, died in Nov. 1966. Maybelle later met Carl LeDuc from Chippewa Falls and they were married in Janesville in Oct. 1968. After Carl retired from General Motors, he also helped her with the store, H&M Sales, which was operated for 32 years. She closed the store out in 1984, which gave her and her husband time to travel. Carl died on Aug. 30, 1988.
Maybelle was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Women's Guild and the Alter Guild.
She leaves behind a son and his wife, three grandchildren, two step grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; one half brother, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry; a half brother, Richard Heintz; three half sisters: Martha Garrison, Mae Skoge, and Elaine Payne.
Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Donald Fehlauer officiating.
